These intricate cushions are made to order. They come with a discrete embroidery signature by the maker and, if you so wish, your name or the name of the person you are giving it to. Backed with either heavy linen or velvet, they are stunning works of art that you will love forever. This is a cushion that makes a huge difference: it provides a Syrian refugee woman with income enough for two weeks’ food and rent for herself and her family.

The Design

This is a traditional design that you can find in almost every house in Syria, but especially in the south. All of our patterns pay homage to ancient Syrian tradition.

The Impact

All profit from sales is used to employ more women and to continue Sabbara’s work on female empowerment. Sabbara was established inside Syria in 2012 in response to the escalating war and it’s devastating consequences for families all over the country. Its aim is to train women in traditional skills, create a sustainable infrastructure for production, and develop an international market .

Materials: 100% hand embroidered cotton with a back made of 100% linen. We repurpose offcuts and scraps of fabric that would otherwise be discarded as waste.
