Description
All profit from sales is used to employ more women and to continue Sabbara’s work on female empowerment. Sabbara was established inside Syria in 2012 in response to the escalating war and it’s devastating consequences for families all over the country. Its aim is to train women in traditional skills, create a sustainable infrastructure for production, and develop an international market .
The Design
Hamsa or the Hand of Fatima is widely used in the Middle East to protect from the Evil eye. The use of Hamsa has been traced back to ancient Mesopotamia.
Materials: 100% hand embroidered cotton with a back made of 100% linen. We repurpose offcuts and scraps of fabric that would otherwise be discarded as waste.
