The Design
Over 150,000 tiny stitches make the pattern of this stunning embroidered cushion. With its harmonious design, warm colours and the incredible perfection of the stitches, this is handmade work of art for your sofa.
This cushion is named after our artisan Nariman, who says: “I love Sabbara because it gave me strength in myself. Any woman who works with us will tell you she is stronger now, because she became a maker, and because she is able to work and provide things for her family. It’s satisfying to make something with your hands and see it come out beautiful, and know you did it well. I take pleasure in it.”
The Impact
All profit from sales is used to employ more women and to continue Sabbara’s work on female empowerment. Sabbara was established inside Syria in 2011 in response to the escalating war and it’s devastating consequences for families all over the country. Its aim is to train women in traditional skills, create a sustainable infrastructure for production, and develop an international market.

Washing instructions: hand wash or machine wash cold on a ‘Delicates’ setting.
All cushion covers some without pads.
