Our social enterprise provides each artisan with fair wages, education, therapy, and hope for a new life – one of economic freedom and independence.
Women employed through our social enterprise create the stunning embroidered cushions, bags and purses, and the beautiful knitted scarves and shawls, available to buy on this site.
We are aiming to address the high unemployment rate, which contributes to the extreme poverty shared by many Syrian women inside and outside the country. We support the most vulnerable women who lost their husbands and therefore their main source of income.
But we don’t stop at providing employment – we provide training, counseling and art and drama therapy. These projects become a way not only of empowering the women involved, but a forum in which to advocate locally for women’s rights, a creative way to promote a just and equal society.
